I'm a traveling wedding and elopement photographer based in Boulder, Colorado. I capture real moments with bright, bold, natural images. My goal is to make your wedding day the best it can be and ensure that you have a meaningful, memorable, FUN wedding day that is the start of a lifelong adventure.
For Laura and Alex, their wedding day was all about celebrating their love in the outdoors in a special place. With close friends and family by their side, Alex and Laura exchanged vows at Lake Isabelle, an alpine lake deep in the heart of the Indian Peaks Wilderness. Their Lake Isabelle elopement was intimate, adventurous, and full of joy. Exactly the way they wanted it!
Now, eloping at Lake Isabelle involves a 5-mile round trip hike to the alpine lake. The lake is one of my favorites in this area of Colorado, and it’s such a special experience to hike their on your wedding day!
Laura and Alex met on a blind date at Moxie Bread Co. in Louisville, Colorado. Over the years their love for each other grew alongside their love for the outdoors. Hiking quickly became one of their favorite things to do together. When it came time to plan their weddin,g they knew they wanted to say I do in the mountains.
Their Lake Isabelle elopement was more than just a beautiful backdrop; it was a place full of memories. This trail was one of their first hikes as a couple, making it the perfect location to take this next big step together.
Their wedding day started bright and early at the Long Lake Trailhead. With 14 of their closest friends and family in tow, the group began the hike to Lake Isabelle. Laura’s mom made the trip all the way from Scotland to be there, and absolutely crushed the hike!
Once we all arrived at the lake, Laura and Alex changed into their wedding attire right there on the trail. We got a bit of unexpected weather, so we hung out in the trees together to wait for the worst of the rain to pass. Eventually we decided to just go for it, even in the rain.
With the stunning peaks surrounding them, they exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony. Laura’s nephew Andrew became ordained just to officiate the wedding while Alex’s son Quentin stood proudly as Best Man.
After the ceremony, we started hiking back down and stopped to admire the views and take more photos along the way.
Laura and Alex wanted their Lake Isabelle elopement to feel natural, relaxed and completely true to them. Their wedding was a perfect reminder that the most meaningful celebrations don’t have to follow tradition. Plus, a little unexpected rain just adds to the Colorado mountain experience!
Sometimes all you need is the mountains, your favorite people, and a whole lot of love! Congrats to Laura and Alex!!
