Josephine and John had a vibrant, heartfelt celebration at one of Boulder, Colorado’s most unique venues: the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse. Their wedding was full of color, creativity, and personality. From the intricate mosaics of the teahouse itself to their handmade details and artistic touches, their intimate wedding was very them!

Josephine and John met 12 years ago through friends at CU Boulder, but didn’t start dating until 2019. Josephine is a modern dance major turned movement artist, and John studied multimedia design and sculpture. They’re both wildly creative people, and their wedding reflected that.

Josephine and John got ready at the Hotel Boulderado before heading to the Dushanbe Teahouse for their colorful wedding. Their celebration included an intimate non-denominational ceremony led by John’s uncle, a live musician, a delicious dinner by Three Leaf Catering, and heartfelt moments with their closest 80+ guests. Personal touches like a handmade veil cape, a temporary tattoo station, and a quilt presented during speeches made the day especially meaningful. They opted for no wedding party, no first look, and prioritized candid, documentary-style photography throughout the day.
