I'm a traveling wedding and elopement photographer based in Boulder, Colorado. I capture real moments with bright, bold, natural images. My goal is to make your wedding day the best it can be and ensure that you have a meaningful, memorable, FUN wedding day that is the start of a lifelong adventure.
Katie and Brody had a beautiful Estes Park wedding at The Boulders at Black Canyon Inn. For their wedding, they really wanted to focus on sharing the natural beauty of Colorado with their loved ones.
If you haven’t seen their engagement photos at the Colorado Paint Mines, definitely check that out!
Katie and Brody met in early 2018, as “two misfits in a national volunteer program”.
In Katie’s words:
“We were stuck together in the workplace and told to “just do whatever one person would do but together.” As our frustration with the lack of direction and funds for our program grew, so too did our friendship. After months of 70-hour weeks and shaky car rides in a truck that only had one airbag, we knew that our friendship had grown into something more. Our relationship officially began one evening after seeing Avengers: Infinity War in theaters. Apparently, that scene where everybody turned to dust and Peter Parker was like, “Mr. Stark, I don’t feel so good…” sparked a fire between us that resulted in our nervous first kiss. For the first few months of dating, we ate our office lunches on the park bench together, went on hikes, and enjoyed summer evenings. We talked sat outside and talked about where we saw ourselves down the road and our life dreams and goals.
As we continued dating, “see ya later” became “Love ya, have a good day;” nervous family functions soon became family members asking to hang out with our respective partners; being home went from meaning where we slept to meaning wherever we were together. We eventually decided to do the only thing that a loving Colorado couple could do: we moved in with each other, adopted a blue-light-special shelter dog, and named it after an animal native to the state we live in (our dog’s name is Moose and she is mostly a good girl with the help of her favorite treats: peanut butter and gouda).
We got engaged in the Arboretum in Ann Arbor, Michigan and have been celebrating with each other ever since.”
Katie and Brody had many loved ones coming in from out of town, and the couple wanted their family and friends to experience the beauty of Colorado. The Boulders at Black Canyon Inn overlooks the Rocky Mountains and provides breathtaking views of the famous peaks. Katie and Brody did their first look on the deck and then celebrated for the rest of the night with the mountains as a magnificent backdrop.
