Steph and Carl were married on the beach at the Big Chill Beach Club at Delaware Seashore State Park!

Their Story

Steph and Carl met 7 years ago at the University of Maryland and became fast friends. What followed was a years-long, multi-city, on-off romance that hit a crossroads 4 years ago. They met at a beer garden to ask a complicated question. “Can we leave the past behind us and move forward, together?” The answer was simple. Yes.

After deciding to move forward together, the two of them spent time together in Bethany Beach (where they had their engagement photos!) and it became their place, their retreat, and a midpoint between NYC and DC where the two of them lived at the time.

Two years, they returned to the beer garden where we had chosen to make a future together. Accounts vary on what was said but they know for sure that another complicated question was asked and a simple answer given. Yes (or maybe a vigorous head nod, it’s unclear).

The Wedding

Steph and Carl love the beach and wanted to focus on the amazing ocean/bay views, soft sand, and coastal breeze at the venue. The wedding was minimalist and monochromatic so that everyone could focus more on the feeling and experience rather than flashy colors and visuals. Steph and Carl loved the idea of marrying at the Indian River Inlet Bridge because the bridge was always a sign for that they would be home soon. The Big Chill Beach Club was the perfect wedding venue for them!
