Shayna and Cal had an absolutely stunning Waikiki Beach wedding on the island of Oahu!

For Shayna and Cal, their wedding was more than just a celebration. It was a homecoming, a reunion, and a dream come true. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Waikiki Beach, their day was filled with laughter, heartfelt moments, and lots of fun. With Shayna’s deep roots in Oahu (it’s her hometown!) and Cal’s love for the ocean, choosing Waikiki as their wedding destination felt right for both of them.

Their Story

Shayna and Cal’s story began in the summer of 2014 when they met at UNDERC, an environmental research program through the University of Notre Dame. Fun fact – I knew Shayna because I went to Notre Dame and also spent a summer at UNDERC!

Anyway, back to Shayna and Cal.

They were part of different lab groups and didn’t initially spend much time together, but the following summer, as their labs started collaborating more, their friendship grew stronger. It wasn’t long before they realized there was something more between them. A summer filled with shared hikes, long conversations, and countless laughs turned into a love that has only grown deeper with time. From their first “I love you” in Waikiki to building a life together in Chicago, their story is such a good one!

Waikiki Beach Wedding

Shayna and Cal’s Waikiki Beach Wedding was an incredible celebration from start to finish. The day began with a first look against in th atrium of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. Then we took photos with their wedding party on Waikiki Beach, including the cool surfboard stands!

Their ceremony on the deck of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki overlooked the beach. As the sun started to set, we took more photos along Kalākaua Avenue and the Waikiki Beach before heading to a lively reception filled with laughter and dancing. From start to finish, their wedding was a perfect mix of elegance, fun, and the laid-back charm of Waikiki.

Shayna & Cal, thank you for letting me capture this incredible day. Your love, laughter, and island spirit made it one for the books. Here’s to many more adventures ahead!
