Smriti and Vasu got the perfect night for dreamy, golden hour engagement photos in Boulder!

Smriti and Vasu are from Singapore, where they met during their college days. Since then, they’ve traveled across the world together. Now living in Houston, they’ve built a life filled with their favorite things including strength training, hiking, and their adorable toy poodle, Sky. Smriti and Vasu took their first trip together to Colorado, so they wanted to do their engagement photos in the state that holds so many amazing memories for them!

When Smriti first contacted me, she said that their vision for the photos is “dreamy, a little vintage, totally relaxed, with some movement.” She said they’re not huge fans of stiff, overly posed photos. Instead, they wanted their session to feel natural and effortless. Oh, and the photos had to include their poddle Sky!

Throughout their session, I gave them plenty of action-based prompts and directions to encourage genuine interactions. I also gave them space to hang out and explore the locaions on their own without a specific pose or prompt.
