Jon and Misty had the perfect night for mountain engagement photos in Boulder, Colorado! It was raining as we drove to the trailhead, but as soon as we parked, the rain stopped and we got a gorgeous rainbow. After taking a few photos in the parking lot with the rainbow, we hiked into the mountains for the rest of the photos. Misty and Jon have so much fun together, and their love is so evident in their engagement photos.

Their Story

Jon is from South Carolina and Misty is from New York. They were both living in Boulder when they met Here is their love story in Misty’s words:

“Jon and I started their story in a typical 21st century kind of way – online, but the story that follows is anything but typical. Initially, I ghosted Jon after talking on Instagram DM’s for no other reason than I hated answering online messages. Jon followed up with three simple ??? a day or two after the conversation had halted. That simple message was the true beginning of forever. I answered 2 days later and our first date happened later that afternoon. It was a lovely walk through the RiNo Art District in Denver, CO and the Denver Skate Park. We spent the day with their cameras doing photography around the city. We had so much fun that we hung out for 9 hours our first date. That night, I went home and knew I wanted to see Jon again. The next day we spent another long day together riding long boards down the Boulder Creek Path. This day also included our first accident, as we rode down the Boulder Creek Path on long boards, Misty hit the pavement and has 3 scars. The magical thing about it is, I don’t remember the pain or gushing blood, but I do remember one of the most fun days she had that summer.”

Mountain Engagement Photos in Boulder, Colorado

Misty and Jon love the outdoors, so they wanted a location that highlighted the beauty of the mountains in Boulder. This trail is one of my absolute favorite locations for photos in Boulder. It’s the perfect spot that combines a short hike, mountains, and sunset views. Plus, there usually aren’t many other people at this trail.
