Sarah and Matt picked a beautiful alpine lake outside of Boulder, Colorado for their engagement photos and we had the perfect summer evening by the water.

When I asked them what they envision for their photos, they say “we  hope to have our pictures taken with an awesome mountain view in the background and maybe some water around.”

I think we nailed it.

Their Story

Sarah and Matt met in Junior High and dated briefly in high school but were just friends after that. They went to difference colleges but got back together after freshman year and have been together since! Sarah and Matt visited Colorado in 2020 and knew Colorado was a place they would consider moving to after Sarah finished her pharmacy residency. Now they live in Colorado together and love it!

Alpine Lake Engagement Photos in Colorado

For their engagement photos, we met at an alpine lake in the mountains about an hour outside of Boulder, Colorado. This particular lake is one of my favorite local locations because it’s easily accessible and it’s gorgeous. It’s also a great spot for elopements! Here’s an example of an elopement at this same location.

For Sarah and Matt’s session, we started the evening on the shore of the water. Byy the end, Sarah and Matt went for a dip in the lake! We got a super golden, glowy sunset and the evening was just magical.
