Erica and Tristan chose Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs for their engagement photos! They picked Garden of the Gods for the amazing views, but also because of the rocks. Erica and Tristan love to rock climb together, and the park is a popular spot for climbing. Even though we didn’t climb for the photos, it was still special for them to have their engagement photos in a popular climbing spot.
We started by taking a short hike through the red rock formations. The giant sandstone rock formations in the park are absolutely stunning, and we walked for about a mile through a trail in the park. Dexter, their dog, came along and got to be part of the photos too! Erica and Tristan love pretty much any kind of outdoor adventure, so after hiking, they pulled out a hammock for some relaxation in a grove of trees.
After the hike, we ended the evening at an overlook for sunset photos. This overlook offers fantastic views of the entire park. We got an epic sunset that night, with the whole sky lighting up with pinks and oranges.
Garden of the Gods is a great place in Colorado for engagement photos, elopements, or even weddings! Located in Colorado Springs, the park offers incredible rock formations with easy trails to explore. Not only is it a beautiful location, it’s an easy one too. Admission to the park is free, and there are no additional permits or fees for engagement photos. Want your engagement photos in Garden of the Gods? Contact me and we’ll make it happen!

[…] Paint Mines Interpretive Park, located outside of Colorado Springs, is a really unique location for engagement photos in Colorado. The colorful clay rock formations are fun to explore and make for a very cool backdrop. The pale formations include bands of bright colors, caused by oxidized iron compounds. Erica and Tristan chose to have their engagement photos at Paint Mines, and we had a blast exploring this park. Erica and Tristan did a full-day adventure for their engagement photos, and after the Paint Mines, we went Garden of the Gods. You can see those photos here. […]
