Morgan and Matt had a stunning destination elopement on Merry Go Round Rock in Sedona, Arizona. They got ready in a desert Airbnb, took a Jeep to their ceremony spot, and then enjoyed the view until sunset. It was an epic day and one that I hope Morgan and Matt never forget (I know I won’t!).

Morgan and Matt’s story:

When they first met, Morgan had just gotten out of a rough relationship. She spent a few weeks hiding in her bedroom until one night her friend talked her into going out for a night. Matt knew Morgan’s friend from mutual friends and approached her to ask who Morgan was. Morgan laughed and shrugged him off when he introduced himself. Later that night, last call came, the bar was closing, and Morgan found myself sitting there with Matt. He bought her a drink and in her words:

“I left him sitting there by himself haha!! We still laugh about it to this day” He tried to take me out on a date for the following weeks and I wanted absolutely nothing to do with any guy but he was persistent! We eventually went out to dinner and the rest is history! We’ve been inseparable ever since.”

Why Did they choose to elope?

Morgan and Matt originally planned a big beach wedding for June of 2021. However, with the uncertainty of COVID, they decided to scrap the big wedding and opt for an intimate destination elopement instead! Morgan has family in Arizona and always loved the red rocks. They both agreed that a destination elopement was more “them” all along.

The Elopement

For the elopement, they got ready at a beautiful Airbnb in the desert with a stunning view overlooking the red rocks. Once they were ready, Morgan and Matt had a first look together on their patio before video calling their closest family and friends. Then we drove farther into the desert and met up with our Jeep driver. We took a Jeep ride up a dirt road to a rock formation called Merry Go Round Rock. The overlook from this particular location is breathtaking. Morgan and Matt’s ceremony took place at the edge of the overlook with just the two of them, their officiant, and me! I even signed as a witness. After the ceremony, we warmed back up in the Jeep before exploring the area, taking photos, watching the sunset, and then driving back down.

It was a magical day and I can’t thank Morgan and Matt enough for letting me be part of their elopement! Here are some highlights from their day.
