Where do I even start with this wedding! Mary and Jeff are some of the kindest, most genuine couples I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. These two met while doing Jiu Jitsu in Salem, North Carolina.

I’ll stop right here because if you haven’t seen their engagement session, you should go do that right now and then come back to this post. During that session, they literally started doing Jiu Jitsu every time I told them to cuddle. Check out that blog here.

Now back to the wedding. They had our first date on St. Patrick’s Day, and after sharing some beers and a few rounds of Jenga, in Mary’s words…”we were stuck with each other.” They were married at the Carriage House in Rockwood Park, and the wedding was a beautiful, fun day to spend with friends and family.

During the ceremony, Mary and Jeff had a hand-fasting ceremony, a folkloric custom in which a couple binds their hands together to symbolize their connection to each other. These are the ties for the ceremony, and included a piece of the Mary’s grandmother’s wedding dress as well as a braid with all 5 Jiu-Jitsu belt colors (how they met!).
