My goal is to make your wedding day the best it can be and ensure that you have a meaningful, memorable, FUN wedding day that is the start of a lifelong adventure.
Need some ideas for elopement day activities to make your day fun and meaningful? You’re in the right place!
Your elopement day is YOUR day to do whatever you and your partner want to do. When you elope, you get to choose exactly how you want to spend every minute of your day. If you’re considering eloping, I encourage you to think about this:
What would the best day ever look like for you and your partner?
Maybe that best day ever includes hiking to a really epic mountain overlook, traveling to a place you’ve always wanted to visit, sipping craft beers around a campfire, or just spending a relaxing day with your closest family without the stress or expectations of a traditional wedding.
If there is an activity on your bucket list, there is no better time to do it than on your elopement day! Here are some fun elopement day activities to make your elopement day fun, meaningful, and special.
Hiking is an easy and fun activity to incorporate into your elopement! Going on a hike gives you and your partner some quality time together or with your guests, allows you to experience some amazing locations, and makes the day feel a little more like an adventure. Hiking can be a short walk to an overlook, an easy sunset hike, or a longer trek.
Watching a sunset together is a peaceful and beautiful way to end your elopement day! I usually recommend spending some time just with your partner around sunset. As a bonus, sunset photos in the golden light are gorgeous!
P.S. You could also watch a sunrise together!
Take in the sights from above! There’s no better time for a helicopter tour than on your elopement day.
Break out the instruments and spend some quality time making music together. You could play guitar, piano, trumpet, or bagpipes. Whatever your instrument, you can incorporate it into your elopement day.
Your pets are an important part of your life, and they can absolutely be included in your elopement! Bring them along on a hike or spend some quality time with them at your accommodation.
Riding above the ground in a hot air balloon is beautiful, romantic, and really fun! If it’s on your bucket list, why not try it on your elopement day?
Going for a swim can make for a really fun addition to your elopement! Imagine splashing through the water with your partner, or getting a little steamy together. Depending on the location, you may even be able to jump off a cliff together. If you want to swim on your elopement day, I recommend ending the day in the water.
Are you a biking enthusiast? Consider going on a bike ride together on your elopement day.
If you and your partner love to kayak, canoe, or SUP together, this might be the activity for you! Paddling photos are really fun and can really show off what you love to do together. Colorado has lots of gorgeous alpine lakes and reservoirs to paddle in, and you don’t necessarily even have to get wet!
Do you have a favorite little spot that the two of you love to visit? Make a stop there on your elopement day!
Yes, you can go camping for your elopement! If you and your partner love camping, imagine ending your day with s’mores, a warm fire, and stargazing.
Imagine skiing down the slopes in your wedding attire. A skiing or snowboarding elopement is a really epic day!
Talk about romantic! Hot springs and relaxing, steamy, and a great addition to any elopement day.
Bring a picnic or a bottle of champagne to enjoy with just the two of you, or with your guests. A picnic could serve as a meal or as just a snack mid-hike or after the ceremony.
Catch some waves together on your elopement day! Start or end the day with surfing and some beach time.
Whether you have your own boat and you’re an experienced sailor or sailing is something you’ve always wanted to do, this is a fun and romantic activity for your elopement day.
Feel like driving on dirt, rock, or other unsurfaced roads? Off-roading is fun in itself, but it can also allow you to access locations that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to.
If you are eloping in a tropical location, snorkeling can be an amazing experience to share with your partner on your elopement day!
Your elopement doesn’t have to be just one day! You can go a multi-day backpacking trip together and then say your vows in an amazing location.
If you and your partner love rock climbing, this is a really fun activity to incorporate into your elopement day! You could do an easy rappel, or a more difficult climb.
Your elopement day can include any activity or adventure that you can dream up. These are just some elopement activity ideas to get you started. I encourage you to create a day that feels authentic to you and your partner, whatever that looks like!
