Details! What are they? Why should you make sure to have them photographed on your wedding day?
While there are many details that go into planning a wedding day, when a photographer says “details”, the word has a completely different meaning.
What are wedding details?
To a wedding photographer, “details” are the small elements that go into your wedding. These items can include:

Why should you have your wedding details photographed?
These details tell the story of your wedding through the small, intimate well, details! You spent time picking out your invitations, perfume, shoes, jewelry, etc., and all of these elements come together to make your wedding unique to you and your fiance. These details matter because they are part of your wedding story. Intentionally capturing these details in photographs ensures that this part of your wedding is preserved long after the wedding day.
Tips for getting your wedding details photographed
There are a few tips to make sure that your wedding details are photographed in the best way possible.
First, tell your photographer that you want the details photographed! I always ask my brides which details they want photographed, but if you want your details photographed, make sure that your photographer knows.
Keep an invitation and save the date, and bring them with you on the wedding day.
Make a list of all the details you want photographed, and put them all together in a bag or box the night before the wedding. Then on the wedding day, make sure you bring the box with you!
Purchase pretty hangers for your gown and bridesmaid dresses. If not, you may end up with photos of your beautiful wedding gown on a cheap plastic hanger. I always bring wooden hangers with me to every wedding, but if you have a theme to your wedding, consider getting special hangers for the dresses.
Make arrangements for all the rings to be in one location with the rest of the details when your photographer arrives! You don’t want the groom’s ring to be somewhere completely different when your photographer is ready to photograph your rings.
That’s all! I hope you have a better understanding of wedding details. Now, enjoy some of my favorite details shots from over the years!
